Aim

Weardale Renewable Energy CIC is on a mission to bring clean, community-owned energy to the heart of Weardale — and we need your support!

Weardale Renewable Energy CIC is a not-for-profit, community-led organisation working to bring clean, locally-owned energy to the heart of County Durham.

Our flagship project has successfully completed Stage 1 of the Community Energy Fund (CEF). We’re now preparing our Stage 2 application, aiming for installation in 2026. This solar farm will generate clean, affordable energy and reinvest profits back into the local community.

Why We Need Your Help

Funding secured is allocated to project feasibility and development, it does not cover the groups essential running costs for admin, legal and financial services to operate.

Every pound you give helps us build a cleaner, fairer energy future — owned by and for the people of Weardale and beyond.

Be Part of the Change

Whether you can give £5 or £20, your support makes a real difference. Together, we can power up our communities, protect our environment, and create a legacy of sustainability for generations to come.

Thank you for believing in community energy. Let’s build it — together.
