“Our amazing team are constantly inspired and captivated by the awe inspiring resilience of our older generation. Its even more inspiring to find this in our communities, right now during this COVID Crisis. Thats why we are doing everything we can to give direct help. Making wellbeing calls, befriending, triage support and essential help with emergency shopping, food bags and medication help. Offering urgent reassurance, friendship and comfort at this awful time.

Who we are

Age UK Mid Mersey exists to promote the well-being of all older people and to make later life an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. We aim to maximise healthy life expectancy and promote health and independence for all older people. Later life can present a whole range of different decisions, options and challenges, and we have helped many older people to feel safe and secure, to mix with others through a variety of activities, and to feel supported, often through difficult times in their lives, whilst helping celebrate older age. Age UK Mid Mersey does this by reducing loneliness and isolation; providing a range of social, health and well-being activities; offering practical support in the home; providing information and advice and by maximising income. 

Whether older people are fit and active and looking for social activities or more frail and vulnerable and looking for companionship or high-quality support, Age UK Mid Mersey strives to ensure that older people are not forgotten and that their skills and experience are embraced, enhanced and valued within our communities. We believe that older people deserve high-quality professional services and activities throughout their later years and we are committed to making sure that we can make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Our Idea

our original project, supporting in care home setting, to highlight the skills and talents have now become overshadowed by the urgent COVID requirement to meet DESPERATE care needs of older frail people alone at home.   Some of the loneliness older people we meet are Often overlooked and outside other care provisions.

we are urgently now directing ALL our resources, All our passion, dedication and effort to front line support to the most vulnerable across Merseyside. We Are making hundreds if wellbeing calls a day, delivering hundreds of essential food bags and giving help and advice to Thousands of callers each week. 

Our Vision

No one will be missed ! No one will be overlooked. Our ambition for older people - Every older person is valued for who they are and the contributions they have made and continue to make to society.
