Craft, chatter and more aims to provide a warm, inviting place for people of all interests, ages and backgrounds to eat, meet and create.
Our Community Group has been in operation since October 2019. We exist to support communities across the North West, mostly around Greater Manchester, with our main purpose to support people to overcome mental health barriers and out of isolation. We do this through a variety of activities, encouraging communities to have their own input and take control of what they want to achieve.
Our service users come from all backgrounds and circumstances. Those that attend our day sessions are mainly made up of people who are out of work either due to their disability or mental health and those in the 65+ age group, many of whom have recently lost their partners and now live on their own. Those that attend during the evening are mainly made up of young parents and those who have found themselves working from home since the pandemic.
Not only are those that attend benefitting but also their family, friends and the wider community.
Our Community Group is funded through grants, donations and we are building our social enterprise. The cost of living crisis has significantly increased the number of participants at the same time as our running costs have increased. In order to meet demand and to continue to offer our activities for free we need to raise more money and are appealing for your help.
Any money raised will go towards our basic running costs, such as, room hire, heating, resources, volunteer expenses and refreshments (soup, roll and hot drinks) for participants.
