Aim

A community hardship fund for local workers left unpaid after Morvala Festival 🌞✨

Hello everyone! ✨

What an incredible weekend at Morvala Festival our community came together to help create 🌞

Behind every stage, every light, every fence and every smile were local people who worked tirelessly for days, weeks and months to make the festival happen.

Sadly, following the festival, many local freelancers, suppliers and crew members have been left unpaid following the company's liquidation. Many are small businesses, sole traders and local families who are now facing unexpected financial hardship.

Our aim is simple: to show that our community looks after its own.

Every donation, no matter how small, will be used solely to provide hardship support to eligible local freelancers, sole traders and small independent businesses affected by unpaid work connected with the festival.

This fundraiser is an independent community initiative and is not affiliated with the Morvala Festival company or the appointed liquidator.

This crowdfunding campaign will remain open for 8 weeks to give our community time to come together and contribute.

Once the crowdfunding campaign has closed, we'll begin the process of distributing the funds as fairly as we can. Anyone applying for support will be asked to provide evidence, where possible, that they carried out work connected with the festival and remain unpaid. We'll be open and transparent throughout the process, sharing how decisions are made and how the funds are allocated, while always respecting applicants' privacy. Details of the application process and the evidence required will be shared once the fundraiser has closed.

If, after supporting eligible applicants, there are funds remaining, any surplus will be reinvested into projects, initiatives or community organisations that directly benefit our local community. Any decision on how surplus funds are used will be made transparently, and an update will be shared with all supporters

This fund is intended to support local freelancers, sole traders and small independent businesses who have been hardest hit by the loss of this income. We know we won't be able to help everyone affected or replace the losses people have experienced, but our hope is to offer a little support to those in our local community who need it most and who worked countless hours to put on a bloody good show for us all to enjoy ❤️

This is a voluntary community hardship fund. It is not intended to replace the formal insolvency process or compensate everyone for their losses, but simply to help local people through an unexpected difficult time.

If you loved the festival, this is a chance to support and show the people who helped make it possible that their hard work is valued by their community.

Thank you for helping our local community through a difficult time - every little helps ✨❤️
