14th April 2025Crowdfunder Backer Update: Goodbye, For Now
Dear all,
For a penultimate time, thank you for all of your support and making the Trilogy possible.
It’s been a delight to create these uncanny worlds, and frankly I’m not sure how to say goodbye to them or you.
It’s grown from a strange experiment back in 2019 to a show half the length of The Ring Cycle, where we’ve seen some of the most respectable, intelligent people I know dance like penguins, race imaginary dogs, and have intense discussions about the nature of justice and power.
I owe a debt to all those who’ve supported and been a part of these worlds, especially to the talented cast and creative team.
But for now, I have to start packing these shows down, and experiencing the strange regret of wondering “what do I do with all these dental-grade teeth?”.
Which means it’s also time for me to say goodbye to all of you - at least for now.
If you’d like to stay in touch, the best ways to do that are:
- Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or BlueSky
- Subscribe to our mailing list
- Write to [email protected] and ask to be kept in the loop
If you’d like a souvenir of these wyrd worlds, we’re also having a clear-out (storage is expensive!):
- We’ve still got some card decks and stickers left over. We’ll be advertising a sale via our platforms soon, but for crowdfunder backers we’d be happy to sell them for cost price + P&P (£1.30 for stickers, £8.50 for cards)
- In early May (once I’m back from working in Wales), we’ll be selling off costume and props. We’ll advertise that via our mailing list and social media channels, but if there’s anything you particularly want that you hope to see in the sale, just drop a line and if it’s being sold off, it’ll be yours for as low as possible.
At their heart, these shows have always been about trusting their audience. To make choices, to care about each other, and to take real ownership of what happens each night. In short, in a show all about uncanny things, it’s about being human.
So, a final time, thank you all, fellow humans. Your care and support, financial, promotional, personal, and otherwise has meant a great deal.
But now, this is the Uncanny Things Trilogy, signing off.
Best wishes,
Leo Doulton
