We're still collecting donations
On the 22nd September 2023 we'd raised £13,547 with 106 supporters in 63 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
To improve our playing area and indoor facilities, to support our growing junior, senior and ladies teams and our local community.

On the 22nd September 2023 we'd raised £13,547 with 106 supporters in 63 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
If we manage to exceed our target then any additional funds will support the improvement of our playing facilities. The actual cost of a new roller is £20,000 so every single penny over and above our original target will be so helpful!
We will also spend any additional funds on improving the indoor space for the increasing number of local families who use our facilities.
We are a family-oriented community cricket club in the foothills of the Malvern Hills, Herefordshire with a proud history going back 150 years, run by a dedicated army of volunteers. The club has always represented more to local people than simply a venue for watching or playing cricket; it is a social hub. Many other community groups and local schools use our facilities on a regular basis and we are proud of the role we play in the community.
We are a village club with new women's teams, and a thriving juniors' section of over 250 young people aged 4-18, including ECB Allstars. Additionally we run 3 Saturday sides, a development team and a social midweek side- the legendary Colwall League of Gentleman (CLOGS).
Our role in the community
Our club is also home to On the Up Coaching, weekly circuit training and women's fitness classes. Other local schools such as The Elms, The Downs and Colwall Primary School and Worcester University are all part of the Colwall Cricket Family. In addition to this, we enjoy welcoming over 250 young people to the club every Friday evening, in addition to their parents, grandparents, family and friends. We are also very proud to host an annual women's cricket festival week, with teams from across the country participating.
As we came out of lockdown, we were then hit with the cost of living crisis, which continues to put a strain on resources but the volunteers remained resolute in their efforts to maintain the club and ensure cricket continues and the club remains accessible to all. We know that local community spaces such as our club have an increasing responsibility to support local residents and families.
With an ever growing junior and women's section, it is more important than ever that we are able to maintain high quality playing facilities and pitches. This is so that those new to the game are able to develop their confidence on a safe surface. Our current heavy roller is over 70 years old and is long overdue retirement! A new motorised roller is a long term investment but unfortunately is an expensive piece of equipment, costing approximately £20,000, which should last over 20 years...
Additionally, we feel very fortunate to have our clubhouse used by more families than ever before, but we now need funding to make this space more family friendly and accessible, so that families can continue to enjoy this truly community space free of charge.
We realise that times are tough and any contribution towards our project will be gratefully received. As a thank you for your support, you can choose from a range of 'rewards' depending on the value of your donation. Each reward is subject to availability. You do not have to claim a reward and can donate any amount that you wish.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
Thank you for your support
You don't need to be a member to donate, we are encouraging the entire community to get involved - you could donate on behalf of your family, your business, school or organisation. We are looking for as many different contributions from within the community as possible.
