New stretch target

With extra money CfC can open up the participatory budgeting process to more individuals and groups.

Collaboration for Change links our small but powerful actions, creating a movement that shifts our culture towards what is good for people and planet. By supporting the Collaboration for Change Participatory Budgeting Fund, you are supporting the flourishing of progressive work across the island of Ireland.

Participatory Budgeting Pilot 2021

CfC are launching a new partnership with PB Works NI to pilot a participatory budgeting process which will support people and initiatives in the growing movement. Participatory Budgeting can be described as “local people deciding how to allocate part of a public budget” and everyone involved will have a direct say in how any funds raised are used.

We are inviting you to contribute to a shared pot of money  - the Collaboration for Change Participatory Budgeting Fund - to provide seed funding for progressive people-led work. The funding will be allocated in a community event where people will pitch their ideas, discuss the ideas and democratically decide which ones will be supported.

The PB pilot process will also be a forum for sharing learning and building networks of collaboration plus an introduction to the potential of participatory budgeting for increasing democratic decision making.

Northern Ireland artists Brian Ballard and Lisa Ballard have generously donated prints of their paintings in support of the CfC initiative. You can find out more about Brian's work at

Michael Albert, an American activist, economist, speaker and writer joined the first Collaboration for Change gathering in The Guildhall Derry October 2018 and spoke of his experiences of creating social change. He also gave his thoughts on the importance and potential of Collaboration for Change.
