Help us build a Performance Centre that powers every CGS athlete to train better, grow stronger and reach their full potential.
At Coleraine Grammar School, sport plays a vital role in shaping confident, resilient and healthy young people. Participation across multiple sports is growing year on year, and more pupils than ever are choosing to be active, represent their school, and push themselves to improve.
But while enthusiasm and commitment are high, the equipment available to support modern athletic development hasn’t kept pace. To train safely, build strength correctly and reduce injury risk, young athletes now need access to proper strength, conditioning and recovery equipment — the same foundations used in progressive school sport environments.
That’s why we are seeking support for performance and training equipment that will transform how our pupils train and develop.
Who We Are
We are a volunteer group of parents, coaches, alumni and supporters working alongside Coleraine Grammar School to improve sporting opportunities for pupils. We see daily the positive impact sport has on young people — not just physically, but in confidence, discipline, teamwork and mental wellbeing.
Our shared belief is simple:
Give young people the right tools, and they will thrive.
Our Vision
This equipment will be used to support pupils involved in a wide range of activities, from competitive school sport to general fitness and wellbeing.
This is about helping young people build lifelong habits of health and resilience — not just improving results.
How the Equipment Will Make a Difference
The funding will provide essential performance equipment such as:
This will allow structured, age-appropriate training programmes to be delivered safely, helping pupils:
✔ Develop strength correctly
✔ Improve coordination and balance
✔ Reduce injury risk
✔ Build confidence
✔ Support both sporting performance and general wellbeing
A Facility That Serves the Wider Community
Importantly, this equipment will not only benefit pupils during the school day. Outside school hours, it will support the wider local community through:
Opportunities for young people who may not have access to structured training elsewhere
This project strengthens not just a school, but the entire local sporting community, giving young people in the area better access to safe, structured physical development.
Supporting the Olympic Legacy in Our Community
This project is part of the Sport NI Olympic Legacy Fund, which supports community sports organisations to improve equipment and create lasting opportunities for people to take part in sport and physical activity.
By backing this campaign, you are not only supporting young people at Coleraine Grammar School — you are helping to create wider opportunities for youth sport and physical development across our community, building a lasting local legacy inspired by the success of Northern Ireland athletes.
We are proud to be part of this initiative and grateful for the opportunity it creates to strengthen access to sport, health and wellbeing for young people now and into the future.
Why This Matters
We know that early access to good training habits builds healthier adults. We know that sport can change confidence levels, improve mental wellbeing, and provide belonging and purpose.
This equipment will help hundreds of young people each year — now and in the future — to grow stronger, stay healthier, and realise their potential.
With your support, we can give them the tools they need.
