The film is based on the true events of the flooding of the Tryweryn Valley in the 1950s and 1960s in North Wales. In 1965, the Liverpool Corporation created a reservoir to provide drinking water to the people of Liverpool, thus destroying the last remaining Welsh speaking community in Wales; Capel Celyn. We follow three young women; Enid, Sian and Gwen, after living in Capel Celyn their entire lives they set out on a mission to stop the flooding by whatever means necessary. This is a story of love, loss and resistance in the face of injustice.

The reason that I wanted to make this particular film is because I wanted to bring the story of the events that unfolded in Capel Celyn in the 1950s and 1960s to a wider audience. Their story is extremely important and there are many lessons that can still be learnt from it. I am Welsh and have always known what happened in the Tryweryn Valley and the great injustice of the events that happened there. I was surprised to learn that, outside of Wales, the story was basically unknown. This inspired me to write this screenplay, I wanted more people to learn about injustices faces by Wales that happened in the not so distant past. In my role as producer, I plan to make the production process as smooth and seamless as possible for all of the crew. I have researched the time period in which the film is set (1960s) in order to acquire costumes, props and locations that would best fit the time period we are portraying. I would like to cast Welsh actresses to play Enid, Sian and Gwen to create a more authentic film and give acting opportunities to young people in Wales. I hope to leave a lasting impact with this film.
ENID - Passionate, strong-willed, and fiercely protective of her community. Enid is a natural leader and activist who doesn’t shy away from confrontation, even at great personal risk. She is determined, spirited, and often takes matters into her own hands, sometimes recklessly.
SIAN - Level-headed and optimistic, Sian acts as a grounding force among her friends. While she shares Enid’s passion for their cause, she is more measured in her approach. She is supportive, empathetic, and thoughtful, often acting as the voice of reason in tense situations.
GWEN - Romantic, sentimental, and slightly more reserved than her friends. Gwen values tradition and dreams of a stable, loving future. She struggles to reconcile her love for her home and heritage with her impending marriage and the responsibilities it entails.

The Budget breakdown shows where donations to this film will be used. As this film is set in the 1960s we will need to use locations, props, costumes and hair/makeup that is appropriate for the time it is set in.
It is of particular importance to me that this film should be shot in Wales. Filming will take place at the end of February in South Wales. I believe that Wales should be showcased for it's natural beauty on a wider scale, that is why we have chosen the locations that we have for this film. When casting this film, we will try to encourage as many welsh actor to apply as possible, in hopes to have a fully Welsh cast for this film.
Thank you so much for supporting this project! I truly appreciate each and every donation no matter what the size, they all count towards creating this project! if you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page so we can reach a wider audience and hopefully achieve our goal
