The aim is to build modern 3G football facilities at Coed Gwilym Park for the benefit of residents and the wider surrounding community.

  • Who are we?

We are the Friends of Coed Gwilym Park, working in partnership with Clydach Football Club as key trustees. We are accredited to the highest level, Platinum, with the Football Association of Wales and we have approx. 600 members playing, coaching and volunteering at all ages from 5 years old through to adults.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are fundraising to build modern, 3G facilities that will allow us to train and play in the heart of our community. We currently have our playing facilities spread across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot in order to meet the growing needs of our club. Artificial hardwearing turf will also allow us to play more games and training session close to people's homes and protect us from South Wales weather which currently means we lose around 30% of our sessions to the weather. Lights will also allow us to extend our time to offer sessions to the community.

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money will be spent purely on a complete 3G facility with floodlights based on FAW cost estimates

Community impact

The facility will build on existing work to improve the adjacent cycle path, Canoe offering, upgraded bowls facility, new football changing rooms and the fantastic, popular community pavilion. All these recent works have seen the park become vibrant 7 days a weeks and helping to bring more aspects of the community together to enjoy what is a fantastic asset to Clydach and the wider residents of Swansea.

How you can play your part

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
