As part of our Development Plans, we aim to complete Phase One, which includes the completion of a new training pitch.
Project Aim
Via the Olympic Legacy Fund in association with Sport Ni and Crowd Funder, we hope to complete the fixtures and fittings to our new training pitch.
Who Are We?
CLG Roibeard Éiméid, Sleacht Néill has proudly promoted and played Gaelic games since 1953. Since our foundation, the club has been based at Emmet Park on the Halfgayne Road, Maghera.
Our aims and objectives are to promote, develop, and sustain Gaelic games, culture, and community spirit within our local area. Our recently launched Development Plan builds on these core principles, ensuring that the club remains at the heart of the community while catering for the needs of all members.
We field teams in all four GAA codes, from U6 to senior level, with a remarkable 32 teams representing our club. We have also recently introduced a recreational rounders team. We pride ourselves on providing inclusive opportunities for everyone by promoting health, fitness, and wellbeing through physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

Why Are We Crowdfunding?
In association with Sport NI and the Olympic Legacy Fund, we are crowdfunding to raise money for new fixtures and fittings for our newly developed training pitch.
With your support, we plan to purchase:
Two sets of 11m GAA goal posts and nets
Two sets of 12m x 18m ball-stop nets
150m of 1200mm-high spectator fencing
These new additions will provide a fit-for-purpose, modern training space for all our playing teams. This will greatly reduce our reliance on external facilities and ease the significant pressure currently placed on pitch scheduling.
By contributing to this campaign, you’ll be investing in facilities that will ensure we can continue to cater for our rapidly growing membership and give everyone in the area the opportunity to take part in club activities.

Community Impact
The new training pitch will benefit all age groups and all four club codes, as well as our recreational rounders team. When other pitches are in use, this new facility will provide a safe, gated, open space for young people in our community to enjoy casual play and to meet friends in a secure environment.
With demand for playing facilities at peak levels, the new pitch will significantly reduce the need to seek training spaces elsewhere—saving travel time, avoiding additional journeys for parents, and keeping activities closer to home.
Having more members and families at the club fosters a stronger community spirit and deeper connections. It provides more opportunities for people to meet, socialise, and support one another in a place we are proud to call our own.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
