Aim

Our project is to develop a community gym to benefit the local community's / members physical and mental health.

Who are we?

We are a community based GAA club offering sporting and cultural recreation for boys and girls across all five codes - Gaelic football, ladies football, hurling, camogie and handball. Our aim is to provide a platform for young people in our community to achieve their sporting and personal goals.

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are fundraising to the help achieve our goal of developing a fit for purpose community gym facility for our members and members of the local community. Throughout 2024, the club carried an extensive consultation exercise with our membership and the local community which identified the development of a fit for purpose community gym facility as the key priority in the short/medium term.

Our plan is to diversify a previousl1758838020_1000079648.jpgy unused space within our current premises and develop a fit for purpose community gym facility.

We are seeking community support to furnish our facility with sports gym equipment to meet the needs of our community.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Our fundraising initiative will help fund the following type of equipment;

  • cardiovascular equipment
  • strength and conditioning equipment
  • functional movement equipment
  • display equipment

Community impact

Our new gym facility has a wider community benefit by positively impacting on the physical and mental health well being within the upper Andersonstown community.  Our club is located in an area of high social need experiencing some of the highest inequalities and barriers to services in the North. The development of this project will help address some of the inequalities members of our community face on a daily basis.

CLG Naomh Pól is utilised for sporting, recreational, cultural and wider community initiatives through our annual calendar focused on supporting young people, vulnerable people and the community capacity building, leading to health benefits, community cohesion and regeneration of our local community of Lenadoon, Upper Andersonstown and west Belfast.
