CLEOPATRA is a musical by Lyndon Samuel and Robert Gould. We are raising funds for a production at the Actor’s Church, Covent Garden.
CLEOPATRA is a musical (with music by Lyndon Samuel and book & lyrics by Robert Gould) about the infamous Queen of Ancient Egypt. Epic in scale and intimate in its emotional intensity and with a soaring and lavish score, it focusses on the character of this complex woman and the conflict between her desire for power and her need to be loved – and also on the dramatic political and war-torn background of the times and the tragedy of the two men (Julius Caesar and Mark Antony) who were doomed by their love for her.
The creative team now have an opportunity to present a concert version of their show to an audience for one night at the prestigious Actors’ Church in Covent Garden with a stellar cast of West End and Off-West End musical theatre performers. But the cost of staging such a showcase is considerable and the risks high – so the creatives are asking for the help of lovers and supporters of musical theatre to guarantee that the concert can go ahead. Any donation, large or small, will be immensely helpful and appreciated. So if you are able to support this new piece of musical theatre writing and contribute in your own way to the creation of a brand new musical, please make a donation.
