Aim: This is a campaign by the community-owned Cleish Village Trust to purchase the former Cleish Parish Church for the benefit of the public.

Cleish Church is to be closed!

The good news? We have a plan.
The challenge? We only have 6 months to make it happen.

When it became clear that the future of the church was uncertain, a group of local residents came together to form the Cleish Village Trust (SCIO) - a registered, community-led charity. Over the past 18 months, we’ve been working quietly but determinedly behind the scenes. Now, we’re nearly in a position to possibly buy the building from the Church of Scotland and keep it in community hands.

We’ve secured an in principle agreement to purchase Cleish Church, provided we can raise the necessary funds by 1 December 2025, and subject to support from Trust members and the wider community.  The church closed for regular worship on 1 January this year.

We believe this historic and beautiful building could be saved for community use - sensitively maintained as a place for gathering, culture, music, history, celebration, worship, and art, all while preserving its architectural and historical significance at the heart of the village.

But we can’t do it without your help.
We need your support—and your donations!

Thank you for supporting the future of Cleish Church.
