Aim

Start a programme of sea water testing at Hastings St Leonards beach to learn if our sea is healthy, safe and free of polluted contaminants.

There are many people going into the sea on a daily basis here in Hastings and St Leonards on Sea, but our coastal landscape is under threat from polluters Southern Water.

Our coastal landscape is important to protect, we live here and share a responsibility to see important changes with our water provider Southern Water and regulators, which continue to damage our shores.

With the ongoing pollution, and sewerage spills from Southern Water we aim to fundraise and begin testing our sea water to collect valuable water data for the health of our community, testing for contaminants in the water such as E.Coli and faecal pollution. This  fundraising campaign can help conduct these important seawater tests and send off the samples to the laboratory immediately. Providing essential data for our community and information to implement changes to water companies which are polluting our environment.

We know the water company and environment agency do not regularly test the seawater and this relevant independent data collecting from volunteers is vital for our communities health and marine life.  We will offer training to volunteers and families, learning about how we can all protect our seas; we will share information to our residents and regulators to enable change, with the already bad practice of southern water.

If the people can support this vital campaign for cleaner seawater testing we could all enjoy our sea much much more for everybody's future.

Thank You.
