Support the City Chamber Orchestra

Aim

We want to provide high-quality concerts in the City of London and bring classical music workshops to underfunded school music departments.

We are a group primarily consisting of postgraduate student musicians looking to establish a new orchestra. 

We have two main aims: 

1) Provide high-quality concerts in the City of London 

2) Organise outreach projects to keep classical music in schools.

Many state school music departments are facing increasing financial pressure, with reduced funding, fewer opportunities for ensemble playing, and closure of music programmes altogether.

Alongside our concert programme, we want to help inspire children who may not currently have access to such opportunities by running interactive outreach projects in schools across London. These will include side-by-side orchestral projects, concerto workshops, and instrument showcases designed to make classical music engaging and accessible for students of all ages.

We are currently looking to collaborate with schools, including Harris Academy schools and Deptford Green School, to ensure that as many children as possible can experience and be inspired by live classical music and participate in music-making themselves.

All funds raised through this crowdfunding campaign will be directed towards supporting our concerts and outreach initiatives as we establish the orchestra and build a sustainable audience base, ultimately enabling us to fund these projects independently.
