City of Armagh RFC Stronger Together: Social & Strength

Who Are We?

City of Armagh RFC is a proud, cross‑community rugby club based in the heart of Armagh City. Founded in 1875, we’re preparing to celebrate our 150th year in 2025 with a renewed commitment to inclusion, youth development, and community engagement.

We field four senior men’s teams and recently relaunched our senior women’s squad after a 23‑year gap. At the grassroots level, we support 216 mini players, 190 youth boys and girls, 5 adult men’s teams, and a senior Ladies section. Our club is more than just rugby — it’s a place where friendships are formed, confidence is built, and everyone belongs.

At City of Armagh RFC, rugby is more than a sport — it’s a way of bringing people together. Every week, our club welcomes over 500 young people and adults through the medium of rugby, building friendships, confidence, and community spirit.

Why We’re Crowdfunding:

We’re raising funds to purchase a stretch tent that will create a safe, welcoming social area for children and families, especially on match days when parents and relatives are representing Armagh. This space will give young people a place to gather, connect, and feel part of the club while supporting the vibrant atmosphere around our games.

Alongside this, we need to invest in much needed player pathway improvements for our new community gym on site. This space has already become a hub for physical activity and wellbeing, but to meet demand we need to invest in more storage and performance equipment. This will help ensure better training opportunities for all, and enhance better access for our members, senior players, girls, boys, and young people using the club.

We want to improve our player pathway experience for all age grade players. Monies raised would help with investment in upgraded pitch equipment, video analyst equipment for youth squads and recovery baths for post-game/training recovery. This will help boys and girls develop into better players, and retain more young people continuing into adulthood.

How We’ll Spend the Money Raised:

  • Purchasing and installing a stretch tent for children’s social use and family engagement.
  • Buying additional gym equipment to expand access and improve training opportunities for all.
  • Purchasing additional video analysis equipment for girls and boys pathway squads.
  • Buying additional pitch equipment including tackle pads, ruck shields and tackles mats.
  • Recovery Ice Baths for all.

Every penny will help us strengthen our facilities, making the club more inclusive, welcoming, and better equip our current crop, and welcome new participants.

Community Impact:

  • Over 500 children, young people, and adults are engaged in rugby at our club. Additional resources will help us evolve and provide a quality experience for all.
  • Families and relatives who attend match days, will be able to avail of a  new social space. This will create a safe and social space for children to play, explore and make new friends.
  • Extra funding will allow us to offer a better experience for young people joining our club. We do extensive coaching outreach, therefore offering a better environment will help retain players at the club for longer.
  • This will allow participants from marginalised communities more opportunity to take part in affordable constructive activities.
  • Volunteers and coaches- We will have better tools and spaces to support development player development, and support our members with overall community health.

Together We Can:

By contributing to this campaign, you’re not just funding equipment or a tent — you’re helping us create a stronger, more inclusive club where everyone belongs. Every pledge, share, and word of support brings us closer to building a legacy for the next generation of rugby players and community members.
