Aim
Help us transform the Paddock into a clean, all-weather, accessible space for families, wheelchairs and all members this winter.
Who are we?
We are Dorking Rugby Football Club, a community club with players, parents, volunteers, supporters and families at its heart.
The Paddock is a central meeting point at the Big Field, used every week by hundreds of people across all age groups.
It’s where members gather before matches, where parents wait with pushchairs, where supporters cross to watch games, and where visitors first experience the welcoming atmosphere of our club.
Why are we crowdfunding?
During the winter months, the Paddock becomes extremely muddy and waterlogged, making it hard to use and often inaccessible for many of our members. Wheelchair users struggle to cross it, pushchairs get stuck, and families end up navigating around deep muddy patches.
We want to change that.
Our goal is to raise funds to upgrade the Paddock surface so it becomes a clean, firm, safe and fully accessible space all year round.
This will:
- Provide mud-free access for wheelchair users
- Make it easier for pushchairs and young families
- Create a multipurpose, all-weather area for members and visitors
- Improve safety, comfort and inclusivity for everyone attending the club
This upgrade is essential if we want to make the Big Field welcoming and accessible for all, regardless of mobility, age or winter weather.
How will we use the money?
Every pound raised will go directly towards:
- Improving and resurfacing the Paddock
- Creating stable, all-weather ground suitable for heavy footfall
- Ensuring year-round safe access for wheelchairs and pushchairs
- Preventing the area from becoming a bog during winter
This is a long-term improvement that will benefit every section of the club: minis, youth, women, seniors, supporters and visitors.
Christmas Prize Draw - Sunday 21st December
To help reach our goal, we are running a Christmas Prize Draw which will be drawn on Sunday 21st December. There will be a variety of fantastic prizes up for grabs, generously donated by club members, local businesses and supporters.
