We need your help
Last Christmas we provided 596 homes in rural Pembrokeshire with Christmas Food Gift Bags, which contained some regular food parcel items along with some festive fare, such as mince pies, chocolate, Christmas cake and savoury snacks. These referrals from professionals, such as health and social workers, identify those in food poverty, representing approximately 1800 individuals - 55% of which were children. Our volunteers packed and delivered more than 1000 Christmas food gift bags in 2019.
We anticipate that there is a possibility that demand might be even higher this year.
It has been calculated that the real value of each of the food gift bags is around £20.
Everyone deserves a little happiness at Christmas
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we know that money is tight for everyone and we are likely to have much lower levels of festive fare donated to us. We absolutely understand the reasons for this. We are asking you for donations to help us buy what we need to continue our Christmas scheme, which we know does make a difference to people.

Pembrokeshire Foodbank (Acts West Wales) is a charity which sincerely believes that no-one should go hungry. Working alongside health and social services, Citizens Advice and more than 100 other local organisations we receive referrals to help people in food poverty. We also offer signposting to other services and a listening ear - along with a free cafe in non-Covid times, at all 5 of our centres in Pembrokeshire.
