The elderly are often isolated physically and financially at Christmas. Therefore, we as a community want to make those left isolated.
In 2016 an elderly gentleman asked me if we were open on Christmas Day, as he was spending Christmas by himself. Ever since, we have provided a Christmas in some form or other, as we never want anyone in our Charlton community to feel alone. During the pandemic we took presents and Christmas dinner to peoples' homes so they still felt included and considered, even in such a lonely time.
Our main goal, since starting our Christmas dinners, has been to bring the community together and remind everyone how important it is to think of others, especially at this time of year.
