Protect Chorlton Scouts from rising energy costs through provision of energy efficient heating.
Chorlton Scouts are one of the UK's largest scout groups with over 450 youth members, Our Volunteers deliver 16 sessions a week for young people aged 4-18.

(Beaver Scouts Exploring their local community)
Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.
Every week we give hundreds of 4-18 year olds the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.
Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of a child’s physical ability, economic status or their background – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we help them find it.
Chorlton Scout's are an integral part of the local community, having undertaken multiple community engagement projects, partnering with Friends of Chorlton Park to plant trees, working with Chorlton Water Park and loads more, additionally our hall is a hub for the community as is used by other groups when not being used for scouting

The increase in the cost of energy has impacted our group significantly as we can no longer afford to adequately heat the property using the outdated fan heaters we presently have installed. We want to replace them with infra-red heaters (picture below) as these are much more efficient and cheaper to run.

The money will be spent to purchase a new heating system for our hall with a timer system so that our building can be warm for when Children arrive. We are a youth led group, meaning we actively involve the young people in what we do with their space, as such we'll give them the opportunity to help choose what system is installed and the difference it will make environmentally and economically.
