We have some big news to share—the procurement process is officially complete, and we are one major step closer to a new skatepark for Chorlton!

The Procurement Process

As you know from how long this process has taken, the "behind the scenes" work of local government can be complex. Due to recently introduced regulations, our community group wasn't allowed to be directly involved in the final procurement decision-making process. However, we have been working closely with Manchester City Council and MCR Active, who have kept us updated along the way to ensure the project stays on track.

Meet our Partner: Bendcrete Ltd

We're pleased to announce that Bendcrete Ltd has been chosen as the partner to design and build Chorlton Skatepark.

Bendcrete is a Skateboard GB approved builder with over 30 years of experience. They’ve been responsible for some great projects across the UK. One recent example worth checking out is this big new skatepark in Barnsley, which just opened this spring.

What happens next?

Now that the builder is on board, we move into the design phase.

A full public consultation will be launching in the coming weeks. We are working with MCC and MCR Active to make sure the process is inclusive and that your views are properly represented. This is your chance to tell the designers what you want to see - whether that’s street, transition, or beginner-friendly areas.

Our goal is to make sure we get a truly excellent skatepark that reflects the needs of our local community.
