Chiswick Playhouse need your support now more than ever.
The Chiswick Playhouse is completely un-funded, relying solely on ticket sales to survive. We need to raise £35,000 as we are unable to reopen fully with our full programme.
The last 6 months have been extremely challenging for the Chiswick Playhouse, not to mention thousands of other people across our industry, fighting to keep theatre across all disciplines alive. Our small core team have been working tirelessly to ensure Chiswick Playhouse can continue to provide opportunities for new emerging artists & quality entertainment when people will need it most. We urgently need your help to safeguard our future.
We have recently had the disappointing news that we did not get awarded the Arts Council Cultural Recovery Grant - which was a huge knock for us. But we are determined to work through, yet again this bump in the road to fight for this beautiful little space.
We know that there is an 80% estimated average reduction in seats due to Social Distancing regulations – making shows not financially viable and we also know that a 70% proportion of 290,000 theatre jobs are at risk. Now we know we are only very small, but we know that we can make a difference to a handful of people currently with no work and we want to continue to do so – that’s where you come in.
We need to raise £35,000 to get Chiswick Playhouse through the Winter months and into the spring. All money raised goes towards the costs of the building & staff allowing us to stay open ad enabling opportunities to work for those that need it, space for people to use and create/test new material and to do what we do best and bring our audiences quality entertainment…We all need it.
Our team are not ready to give up yet – but we need your help and support in order to do this.
