Chetnole Village Hall Redecoration Project

Aim: To redecorate our village hall both inside and out, so we can continue to use this wonderful hall for classes, events and private functions

Our lovely village hall in Chetnole, built in 1936 and improved in 1999, is at the centre of many village community activities. It is now desperately in need of decorating, both inside and out, so we can continue to use it for local art and music events, for private functions and for classes. All of these bring in revenue which is used to maintain the hall on Chetnole's behalf year on year, but we need help to prevent the deterioration of our much loved hall, and ensure that it remains an appealing place to hire and visit.

• We have started work on the outside painting, but discovered that we also need to replace some exterior wood. 
• Our lighting system, which is key to providing essential facilities to events and productions, has recently failed so we are also currently replacing the stage lighting. 
• We are hoping to start interior decoration as soon as we have the funds to cover the cost!

Total cost of the redecoration project is approx £9000, (exterior £4000 including unplanned cost of £2000 for wood replacement, and interior £5000).  We do endeavour to maintain a reasonable amount of money to pay for ongoing upkeep such as this, but this year we have rather a lot of projects that need attention, so we are seeking other sources of revenue, such as crowdfunding and grants.
