Chesterfield Foodbank Easter Campaign

Aim

Provide emergency food, essentials and support this Easter while funding core foodbank costs to help local families in crisis.

This Easter, many families across Chesterfield will be facing impossible choices between food, heating and other essentials.

Over the past year, we supported 9,595 people, including 2,227 children, who were experiencing financial hardship. 

For many, reaching the foodbank comes at a point of crisis, when cupboards are empty, bills are overdue, and there is nowhere else to turn.

Your support will help us provide:

• Emergency food parcels for families and individuals
• Essential items such as toiletries and household basics
• Safe, welcoming foodbank sessions in local communities
• Support to help people address the causes of hardship

Our foodbank is more than food. When someone walks through our doors, they are met with dignity, kindness and practical help. Alongside food, we offer access to advice on money, housing, energy bill support and wellbeing, helping people move forward and reduce the risk of ongoing crisis.

Why This Crowdfunder Matters Now

Demand for our services remains high, while the cost of running our foodbank continues to rise.

This includes:

• Warehouse rent and storage costs
• Venue hire for our six weekly foodbank sessions
• Vehicle maintenance for our foodbank vans
• Core operational and staffing costs
• Purchasing food and essential supplies when donations are low

Without this funding, it becomes harder to maintain consistent, reliable support for local people.

Real Impact

We recently supported a mum undergoing chemotherapy who had no gas, electricity or food after her benefits were stopped.

With your support, we were able to:

• Provide emergency food and essentials
• Connect her with Citizens Advice who helped correct her benefit entitlement and access a small grant
• Support her family through an incredibly difficult time
• She told us she felt “no longer alone” after visiting the foodbank, and was able to focus on her health and children.
