To replace a very old rowing boat which needs to be retired after 1000's of miles training and competition rowing
Chester Le Street Amateur Rowing Club has a diverse membership spanning social backgrounds, age, gender and ability and we would like to see this grow. Our aim is to reach out, through community events in Chester-le-Street and the surrounding areas, to encourage more people to take up rowing.
To do this we need to have sufficient facilities and need to replace a very old rowing boat which is worn out after many years of use. The club is run entirely by volunteers and we rely on fundraising activities & donations. Please support our rowing club to raise the funds needed to replace this boat.
Over many years our club has been a magnet for local youngsters. Rowing is a great fitness builder, increasing both strength, stamina, and coordination. In addition, it is a great way for our junior rowers to build their team and leadership skills. Rowing is a team sport which encourages children to participate and learn valuable skills which they will take into adulthood.
We are well thought of by British Rowing as a lead club for junior development with some juniors competing at GB level.
