Holly has always wanted to make it in Hollywood. She’s a writer, producer, director, actor and the founder of her own production company. There’s just one small problem…
She isn’t Holly Wood.
So we thought: why not fix that?
Welcome to Chasing Holly Wood! A dating show, social experiment and love story with one very specific casting brief: find Holly a Mr Wood.
But this isn’t your standard dating show.
We’re taking the brutal world of Hollywood casting and putting it head-to-head with the equally brutal world of modern dating. Dates become auditions. Second dates become callbacks. The final contenders face the ultimate Holly Wood roundtable.
Think The Office meets Hollywood meets a dating show.
And we want you to see everything.
The cameras. The crew. The chaos. The production meetings. The questionable decisions. The people desperately trying to keep the shoot on schedule while Holly is busy deciding whether someone is husband material.
Our crew won’t just be invisible people behind the camera, they’ll be characters in the story. We want to shine a light on the incredibly talented people who make film and television happen, while showing audiences what actually goes on behind the scenes.
We want to pull the curtain back and show the real thing: the creativity, the madness, the problem-solving, the personalities and the ridiculous amount of work that goes into making something people eventually watch for 10 minutes on a screen.
And yes we genuinely want to find Holly a husband.
Not a pretend one. Not a publicity husband.
We’re building this as a passion project because we love making things. We love comedy. We love dating shows. We love film. And we love the people who make film happen.
We also see huge potential for this to become a format that lives beyond one series with long-form episodes on YouTube, short-form content across TikTok and Instagram, live events, brand partnerships and plenty of opportunities to bring audiences into the world of Holly Wood.
And that’s where you come in.
Your money will help us actually make the thing.
We’ll use the funds towards production costs: locations, equipment, crew, travel, post-production, cast and contributors, production design, marketing and all the unglamorous things that somehow cost money when you’re making television.
Most importantly, it means we can pay the brilliant people helping us make this happen and give them the time, resources and creative freedom they deserve.
We’re not asking you to simply fund Holly’s love life.
We’re asking you to help us build a funny, ambitious and completely ridiculous little corner of television, one that lets audiences fall in love with the characters, laugh at the chaos, learn what really happens behind the camera, and maybe leave feeling a little braver about chasing their own wild dreams.
And if, somewhere along the way, Holly finds her husband?
Well.
That would be a pretty good ending.
