To raise funds for a satellite tracking project for globally threatened eagles in Siberia. To involve schools, companies and individuals.
CHASING EAGLES

TARGET AMOUNT - £12,600.
This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get involved in a wildlife conservation project to help save a globally threatened species.
Individuals, schools, businesses, now's your chance to make a difference.
Chasing eagles is a collaboration project between countries and between people. The current focus is on researching the declining population of the Imperial eagle of the Baikal region of southern Siberia.
Our UK based charity - International Raptor Research and Conservation (IRRC) - has been steadily developing ongoing conservation efforts in collaboration with biologists and conservationists in Russia and China and has already completed two expeditions. The first was to survey the breeding population in Siberia and the second to survey wintering areas in China. The next step is to develop an ongoing satellite tracking programme using tags which are fitted to young eagles just before they fledge. This will allow each tagged eagle to be monitored remotely to determine its movements throughout the year, including its 4,000km migration. The aim is to gather information which will help to establish protected areas in Siberia and China and stop this iconic eagle from being lost forever.
You can be a part of this exciting new way to conserve one of the worlds wonderful eagles. Our team at IRRC have come up with a number of opportunities where you can help and receive great rewards at the same time.In the past, we have managed to raise limited funds by doing sponsored coast to coast walks and other similar activities. The last expedition in 2013 was funded when IRRC director Stewart Miller was awarded a travel fellowship by the prestigious Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.

"I am a great believer in everyone and anyone being able to get involved in wildlife conservation and this is why I'd like to invite you all to help me "chase eagles".
Please join us in this unique way to make a difference to eagle conservation.
Please note.
For rewards involving activities, you must make your own way to venue. Travel costs not included in reward.
There are terms and conditions with reward number six which mean that the participant will have to be fit and able to travel and camp in the field (no electricity or toilets etc). You will have to pay for your own return travel to Irkutsk in southern Siberia, including any visas, vaccinations and insurances. When you join the expedition in Siberia, we will meet you at the airport or train station in Irkutsk, and provide all transport, food, tent and equipment required for one week in the field.
