It is General Election time, finally! It has been three Prime Ministers and countless scandals, but now comes the ceremonial booting out of the Tories. They are toast!
Twickenham has long been a place of Liberal Democrat and Conservative tug of war, but this time it is different. The Tories terrible record in office puts them with just a 3% chance of winning, according to Electoral Calculus who forecast the Liberal Democrats breezing to victory. You may think that this is bad news for the Green Party, but this is actually a great opportunity.
On Richmond Council, where there isn't even a single elected Labour representative, it is the Green Party who have worked hard to become the Official Opposition. Your team of Green Councillors have led the way for our communities and demonstrated the importance of a strong alternative voice.
We know that there is no need to vote tactically in this election as there is just no threat of the Tories winning. You can lend your support to Chantal and the Green Party without fear.
Labour have just as much chance (3%) of winning here as the Tories. So, instead of backing the establishment in an area where they cannot win, why not provide a boost to your local hard working Green candidates in this election?
You can send a clear message that Green priorities are your prioirities, and that environmental and social justice matter to you. Refuse to be forced to vote for a Party that does not listen to your concerns and promises nothing more than business-as-usual.
