Marlow RUFC Changing room upgrade

Aim

To upgrade our Community Rugby Club's changing room facilities to make the space more inclusive to our growing Women and Girls teams.

Who are we?

Established in 1947, Marlow Rugby Club has long been supporting the local sporting community, encouraging a strong tradition of rugby excellence and community engagement. While our boys and men’s teams are well-established and continue to thrive, we are now experiencing exciting and sustained growth in our women’s and girls’ rugby programmes. This development reflects both a growing interest in the sport among young women and our club’s commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity.

Why are we crowdfunding?

To support this continued growth and ensure a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for all players, we are seeking funding to support the programme and upgrade our changing room facilities.  

How we’ll spend the money raised

Our current infrastructure does not adequately support the needs of a mixed-gender club. We aim to create separate, secure changing and shower areas for boys, girls, women, and men. These upgrades are essential to meet safeguarding standards and to foster a sense of dignity, comfort, and respect for all players.

Community impact

In addition, we are committed to expanding our outreach efforts by partnering with local schools to introduce more girls to rugby. This initiative is aimed not only at growing participation but also promoting the values of teamwork, resilience, and physical well-being for all, that rugby uniquely offers. With the right support, we will be able to provide tailored coaching, equipment, and structured programmes which we hope will inspire the next generation of female players. 

This funding will be instrumental in helping Marlow Rugby Club continue its journey toward becoming a fully inclusive, community-driven club that champions the development of women and girls in sport.
