We aim to refurbish an old space and the existing changing facilities to accommodate more sports and local community groups at the club.
At East Ardsley United Cricket Club we are an inclusive, family and community orientated club and wish to expand our member base in the coming years.
The club's aim is to encourage greater participation in cricket and other sports and to support our members and the local community from both a physical and social perspective. We are proud to deliver a welcoming, inclusive and fun atmosphere in which to take part in cricket and social activities.
The club is run entirely by volunteers, including the management committee, coaches, ground staff and many others who give their time freely. We have been Clubmark accredited since 2014, recognising us as a safe, child friendly club.
As a not-for-profit organisation fundraising plays a large role in enabling us to maintain, improve existing and develop new facilities at the club.
Two of the key goals we would like to address are to:
- increase women and girls participation in cricket at the club (as part of the ECB's directive). We have been fortunate to pick up a number of girls in our junior section over recent years and would love to build on this further. We also have partnered with a local rounders team (predominantly females) who have made Jeffrey Field their home; and
- increase general membership and community involvement at the club.
In order to achieve these goals we have identified the need to improve and increase our changing facilities and maximise the existing spaces we have available to accommodate and appeal to an increasing number of groups we have and aim to have at the club.
1. We wish to transform the existing space below in to a multi-functional area to be used for both changing facilities and an indoor space available for the local community to hire and use.
2. We will also renovate our existing changing facilities to make them hospitable for our existing junior and senior teams, our visitors and other community groups using them; including:
Replacement of the existing flooring which is certainly well-worn
Replacement of the shower and toilet facilities for safety and hygiene
Repairs to ceilings and walls where years of wear and tear and a leaky roof has caused damage
We really believe that having a welcoming and safe environment is key to retaining existing and attracting new members and community groups to the club.
The changing facilities are often one of the first but most commonly used areas for visiting sports teams which plays a major part in the perception of the club. We wish to make the club welcoming and safe for all those who visit.
We also look forward to being able to offer a brand new space for smaller groups to use throughout the week which will give opportunities to other like-minded community groups who do not have a permanent premises to operate from. We currently open our doors to the wider community well over 60 times per year, in addition to our seasonal opening hours, with increasing interest from a wide range of community groups.
Below are the simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality:
1. Make a contribution. We have various sponsorship opportunities available with great additional benefits to individuals, companies and organisations alike. The sponsorships available on here are not exhaustive so if you wish to get involved but in a different way please get in touch!
Our junior (U9/U11/U13/U15) and senior (1XI & 2XI) teams are currently looking for matchday kit sponsorship for the 2026 season. If this would interest you, your business or organisation please do reach out as we would welcome a conversation.
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the community to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business. By donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
