“Change of Scene has been an absolute lifeline for my child. Their compassionate understanding of the complexities of anxiety and the nurturing environment they created are second to none.”
We need your urgent help to save our charity.
Change of Scene has been providing outdoor learning to children and young people aged 7-25 years on our idyllic 14-acre farm for over 16 years. We work with children from Surrey and Hampshire with special educational needs.
We offer life-saving support for vulnerable young people but now our farm and charity face closure unless we can relocate and raise significant funds to support the move.
The Problem:
We have been looking for a new site for our farm for over four years. At the end of last year, we thought we had found our forever home; we were about to sign a lease and had submitted a planning application for a building to house the children, staff and some of the animals.
Suddenly, we discovered there were unexpected covenants on the land and our potential new site fell through. With that news, all our plans have turned to dust.
The Solution:
We only have 3 months to find a new home for Change of Scene. We need funds to buy a piece of land that’s bigger than 12 acres, has good access from the road, where we will be able to install a building and set ourselves up for our future. To buy land of that size, in our catchment area, we will need in excess of £300,000. We have no alternative other than to purchase with cash to meet the deadline and we need your urgent help to raise the necessary funds.
Without funds, we will have to close. This will mean the end of Change of Scene and failing the young people who rely on us.
"This special farm with its patient and compassionate staff has been an anchor for my child."
