Commissioning and premier of a new String Quartet.

Aim

We are celebrating the successful 10th anniversary of Chamber Players with a commission of a new String Quartet by Thomas Hewitt Jones.

Chamber Players has been providing unique opportunities for young string players of all abilities for the past 10 years. We are celebrating this achievement, and looking towards the future with the commission and premier performance of a new string quartet written by composer Thomas Hewitt Jones. 

The premier performance of this piece will be on Saturday 1st February 2020, 7.00pm at All Saints Church, West Dulwich, SE21 8JY. 

Chamber Players has provided subsidised places for any pupil who needs financial assistance over the years, and we have done that by organising a wide variety of concerts throughout the years. All of the revenue from the concerts goes towards the scholarship fund for the pupils. This year we would like to celebrate the 10th anniversary by commissioning a piece of music to be written, and premiered in February 2020. We are aiming with this crowdfunder, not only to pay for the commission, but to sustain a strong foundation for the scholarships so that we can maintain this level of support for future pupils. 

The premier performance will be given by the Chamber Players Ensemble: Hartmut Ometzberger, Lucy Melvin, Dorothea Vogel and Graham Walker.
