86 mile walk from The Viking Way Cafe at the Humber Bridge to Lincoln.
Saturday 24th May 7am several of us will be walking 86 miles from The Viking Way Cafe to Lincoln. Aswell as other family and friends joining us along the way. We will be raising money for 2 very worthy Lincolnshire charities Sophies Journey and St Barnabas. All in the name of the beloved Col Sherwood whom we sadly lost nearly 2 years ago.
The aim is to finish the walk in 29 hours. This number is personal to his family and friends but please remember we are not elite athletes and things do happen but we will keep plodding on until we finish. We will be stopping every few hours for a maximum 15 minutes to replenish with food and fluids if we need to. The clock will get stopped when we do this and restart on setting of again.
So why 86 miles ? Colin's birthday was 29/10/86 which is where the miles and hours come from.
Anyone that would like to join us for a few miles or are more than welcome to or to show us support along the way. Someone will be updating our location on a regular basis.
Below is the route we will be walking.

Thank you
At 23:15 on the 24th we as a team have decided that in the interest of safety the route would be cut off at Donington-on-Bain. Rejoining the planned route at woodhall spa. After previous checkings of the routes the last part of the wolds was deemed to dangerous with the inclement weather. I would just like to remind everyone that this is a challenge and team safety comes first.
It’s been a gargantuan effort from the team, and not through lack of want or trying we are calling the challenge and what a challenge it has been.
Whilst we may not have been able to hit our numbers which hold significance those who have walked should be proud of where they got too.
We are finishing off @ 04:45 on the 25th 50 miles.
Thanks again for all the support x
