Aim

Buy this beautiful 7ft solid wood chainsaw sculpture (by Ste Iredale) for Musicport to help refugees on Greek Islands this summer

Help buy this solid  7ft douglas fir chainsaw sculpture for Musicport.  Made by  local artist Ste Iredale,  the purchase of it will help fund his partner Kate Rider and daughter Rose Iredale to assist refugees on the Greek Island of Lesvos this July. They will be working for an organisation called Shower Power which provides safe, clean, hot showers to women and children from refugee camp Moria.  Since starting in the second week of February 2018 more than 2000 women and children have benefited from the facility.  A team in the Netherlands is working hard to raise funds so that the service can be provided on a bigger scale, using other small, private locations to ensure people feel safe and welcome not only with a hot shower but also with a quiet, spotless and dry environment, a place where they will be treated with dignity.  Proceeds from the sale of the "Bass man" will fund basic expenses for the volunteering trip and all remaining money will be given directly to Shower Power.  The sculpture will feature at the festival and other events and have pride of place in The Old Reading Room Goathland as its permanent home.

Musicport is a not for profit community business promoting culturally diverse music and music education on Yorkshire coast since 2000.96a314f8109bbb7c8a02bbe0bc0ccfc07d8817d5
