We want to develop our cricket club and the facilities that we can offer to the community and our members
Established in 1862 Chaddesley Corbett Cricket Club boasts a deep and rich history in the local area.
The Club is open to all and is run by volunteers.
The club competes in the first division of the Worcestershire County League, a feeder league to the Birmingham & District Premier Cricket League in the ECB pyramid structure. We run 3 teams competing on a Saturday, 1 team on a Sunday and midweek, as well as running a Youth Section.
We pride ourselves on being a vibrant, friendly and competitive club that provides a warm welcome to past, present and future members and spectators alike.
The Club has achieved Clubmark Accreditation by demonstrating the best practices are in place to develop and deliver high quality community cricket in a safe, effective and child-friendly way.
As part of our commitment, we try and minimise the financial barriers to participation so we can attract people from a broad spectrum of society, particularly younger players starting out on their cricketing journey.

We are also proud to say that thanks to the excellent support from the local community, we successfully crowdfunded for our projects for last year and secured our future after the COVID affected seasons. Now we are looking to build on, and develop our club and its facilities
The cricket club is part of a wider sports club which utilises the grounds for other sports such as football and rugby. Over the past few years we have been developing the cricket activities to involve the local community.
Junior Cricket - All Stars and Dynamos
Last year saw the re-launch of our junior programme. Some highly successful events were held to re-ignite the junior cricket sectio. This year we will build on this. Already we have had one of our members trained as an accredited coach, and we have had a number of junior cricketers sign up to the programme. With your support, we will make 2022 an exciting year for our junior cricketers!

Social Cricket
A Friday Night Social Cricket section has started to thrive and engages many local community members. We have been able to encourage new players to take up the sport and also to persuade ex-players to return and play social cricket.

Women's Cricket
With one women's cricket event being held last year, we can see that the interest levels in our community are high. We hope by women's cricket bring so heavily featured in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, this will further increase awareness and interest in the sport. Four women cricket events are scheduled through the 2022 season and we hope this will allow us to eventually run a women's cricket team at the club.
The 2022 Commonwealth Games are coming to Birmingham and the West Midlands. In 2022, our region will erupt with a celebration of culture, sport and unity and will be visible to all on a global stage. Like our cricket club, Birmingham is a vibrant and diverse city and is renown for offering a warm welcome to all that visit.
For many, having the 2022 Commonwealth Games on our doorstep will be a once in a lifetime experience, and we, as a cricket club wish to celebrate that occasion.
In the spirit of the commonwealth, we will be encouraging our local communities to get out and get active by participating in sports and recreational activities to engage in physical activity and improve their health and wellbeing.
We aim to build upon previous achievements, and deliver local community projects to ensure that our cricket club is "Games Ready".
For only the second time, cricket is being played at the Commonwealth Games and this is a huge opportunity to promote the sport, in particular to those groups that may not have participated in the sport before. For the very first time, the 2022 Commonwealth Games is holding a women's cricket tournament, and although women's cricket is growing, and we hope that the games will showcase the sport to women of all age groups and encoring them to participate.
The legacy of the 2022 Commonwealth Games will remain long after the games are finished, and we hope that it will have inspired a generation to love cricket. The Commonwealth brings people together, and it will bring our local community together. By helping promote and secure our cricket club and its local environment, the commonwealth will have left its lasting effect on the community of Chaddesley Corbett. We are committed to working with the United by Birmingham 2022 mission in order to achieve our goals. https://www.birmingham2022.com/united/

We are crowdfunding to improve our clubs equipment and facilities. The pandemic created a huge challenge for our club. Bar taking s and match fees were unable to cover the costs of running the club leaving club funds depleted. Our successful crowdfunding project allowed us to refurbish and repair many items around the club, and indeed the members made use of the lockdown period by carrying out work around the ground.
Huge strides were made last year where we were able to secure our clubs future though the generosity and hard work of the Chaddesley community. Now we need to kick on and invest in our club by improving the facilities and infrastructure.

We are looking to investing in the following key areas for the 2022 season:
This is of huge importance as currently there is nowhere for our players to store kit during matches. If it rains, they have to return to the club house.

We wish to erect a ball stop net to prevent cricket balls being lost in the brook. This will improve player safety also as it will reduce the need for the players to enter into the protected are and risk injury.

The artificial pitch is damaged, and cannot be used. By refurbishing this strip, we will be able to increase the use and availability of the second cricket square.

Some boundary fencing has been erected. We now need to extend the amount of boundary fencing around the ground so that we can improve spectator safety
Sightscreens are are important part of the cricket playing field and required to ensure player safety. We are looking to replace our damaged sightscreens.

Surface replacement of the nets. The frame and netting has been previously refurbished via a previous project, now we desperately need to renovate the actual surfaces.

We are looking to purchase a secure storage space for our groundsman equipment. This is important to maintain the equipment and also to deter theft or vandalism
Improve safety and enjoyment of the match
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge and claim your reward. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
