With this funding we plan to provide a modern simulator facility for student and advanced training.
The Cotswold Gliding Club is one of the largest gliding clubs in the country and host to both regional and national gliding competitions.
As a CASC we support gliding across the community and have a strong development program for junior pilots.
This fundraising goal will be matched by Sport England if we raise £4,173, and will be used to substantially improve our simulator facilities.
Simulators are excellent tools for training at all levels of gliding; from pre-solo to advanced skills such as instructing, cross country and aerobatics, across all age groups and genders, particularly in the quieter winter months.

Our current facility is fairly old and in need of some TLC. We are fortunate to have been given an advanced simulator module and are now planning improvements to the location and infrastructure for the Sim.
We firmly believe that a good simulator facility will improve member retention, especially among juniors, raise the general skill level, reduce risk and provide an excellent training platform.
The majority of the budget will be spent on improving the physical facility. We will also use some of the money to optimise the simulator itself.

Gliding is a truly communal sport and we welcome anyone interested in learning to fly. Our membership is multi-generational and support local schools in their STEM activities. We have a positive gender policy and the Cotswold Gliding Club is a recognised Junior Gliding Centre by the British Gliding Association.
