Centrica Isle of Wight Cycling Challenge 2026

Cycling for Island Communities - Supporting Two Incredible Local Charities

In July 2026, a team of 25 colleagues and friends from Centrica will take on the Isle of Wight Cycling Challenge, cycling over 105 kilometres around the island to raise vital funds for two local charities that make a real difference to the lives of children and young people.

This challenge is about more than completing a demanding ride. It is about supporting organisations that help young people build confidence, improve wellbeing, and overcome challenges through the power of nature, the sea, and community support.

Our Charity Partners

The Wave Project Isle of Wight

The Wave Project helps young people reduce anxiety, build resilience, and increase confidence through award-winning surf therapy programmes.

The charity has also established one of the UK's Adaptive Surfing Hubs on the Isle of Wight, creating opportunities for people with disabilities to experience the benefits of surfing in a fully inclusive environment.

Participants consistently report feeling calmer, more motivated, and more positive about their future after taking part in the programme.

Wild Roots IW CIC

Wild Roots is an Isle of Wight-based Community Interest Company dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children and young people, including those with additional needs.

Through outdoor learning, wildlife engagement, and nature-based activities, Wild Roots helps children reduce anxiety, improve wellbeing, develop life skills, and grow in confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

Meet the Team

Taking on this challenge are Jack Fryer, Ben Jardine, Paul Henderson, George Blake, Hailey Donovan, Simon Fisher, Simon Webster, Ian Lee Butler, Andrew Walker, Darren Mills, Scott Peacock, Paul Richards, Jeff Davis, Harry Ward, Alex Elliott, Joe Cottiss, Lee Wilson, Sonny Williams, Stephen Atwell and Jake Gardner, supported by a wider team of dedicated individuals who share the same commitment to making a positive difference for communities across the Island.

The Challenge

On 17 July 2026, starting from East Cowes, the team will set off on an epic journey around the Isle of Wight.

The route may be famous for its stunning coastal scenery, but it is far from an easy ride. Cyclists will face challenging climbs across the Island's central downs before returning to the coastline, taking in spectacular views along the way.
