We're still collecting donations
On the 23rd December 2024 we'd raised £2,635 with 85 supporters in 35 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We need your help to provide indoor skate sessions in Edinburgh over the cold, dark winter months.

On the 23rd December 2024 we'd raised £2,635 with 85 supporters in 35 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We will be able to continue running through March!
We will be able to contribute towards coach training fees to those who can't afford it.
We will be able to employ coaches to teach at our sessions!
We are Friday Skate Club, a community group who run free, friendly, weekly skate sessions for all ages, genders, abilities and backgrounds.
We want to continue running our regular sessions indoors over winter.
Right now in Edinburgh there is no permanent, safe, indoor space for skateboarding or other wheeled sports.
It's our objective to provide a safe, welcoming space for existing and new members of our community to relax, skate and socialise together.
We would love to keep the sessions free to attend so that there are no economic barriers to anyone who wants to come and skate!
It's important to us to collaborate with local artists, community groups and coaches in order to grow our community and to improve social intergenerational relationships.
In order to run our indoor sessions we need to raise money to cover December through March.
These are just some of the costs to use the space in Granton for a proposed 12 x Friday Skate Club sessions:
venue hire 12 x 5 hour sessions over 4 months: £1800
a few other costs over this time are:
annual insurance cost: £1422 (for winter month £474)
storage at the venue: £700
a little extra funding past our target
will allow us to pay the rest of the insurance for the year so we can run events all year round
add-ons we can provide with extra extra
occasional van hire to take obstacles to and from different venues: £378
employ skateboard coaches @£35 per hour for 10 hours (spread over some of the sessions): £350
snacks and and drinks: £180
All funds raised go straight back into Friday Skate Club.
Any extra funds will go straight into summer & winter 2025 budget.
