Help us to raise £2,200 towards getting records of the historic collections of the beautiful Pusey House Library online.
Pusey House was founded in 1884 as a monument to the life and work of Dr. Edward Bouverie Pusey (1880-1882), Professor of Hebrew at Oxford University and Canon of Christ Church Cathedral. The House supports the work of the University of Oxford by providing a chaplaincy together with a theology library of 75,000 volumes.
The Library and Archive consists of both special collections (early printing, specialised books and modern manuscripts) and a working academic library. Our archives are used by professional historians and theologians from across the world. We are closely associated with the University of Oxford, but are an independent charity whose collections are open to all.
At the moment, the main access to most of the Library's important collection is via a charming but not very user-friendly card catalogue. This means that people can only find out what books we have if they are already in the Library. Readers travel from all over the world to visit us, and we want people to be able to find out about our amazing books wherever they are.

Over the last two years we have uploaded records for 5,000 of our books onto Solo: the online catalogue we share with the Bodleian and Oxford University College libraries. But we have 75,000 books in our collections.
To create online access as soon as possible, the Library is employing two additional members of staff to work on a targeted high impact project to re-catalogue all 29,000 of our printed monographs. We have already received generous grants from the Foyle Foundation, the Pilgrim Trust, The Chichester Theological College Trust, the William Delafield Foundation and the Historical Society of the Episcopal Church which will fund year one of a two-year project, but more money is still needed.

Donate as much or as little as you like, but here are some suggested amounts:
