Aim: We need specialist isolation pens to ensure our sick cats don't spread illness, and to keep them safe and comfortable
We rehabilitate and rehome cats that are abandoned, sick, injured, suffering welfare issues or in immediate danger, such as from cruelty. We are the last hope for most of these animals. We take in those cats that have nowhere else to go – sadly we rarely take in loved pets from comfortable homes.
This means the cats that come into our care often haven’t seen a vet in years, if at all ever. They are not already vaccinated. They can have diseases, parasites and contagious illnesses that can easily spread in our busy facility. At any given time we usually have very young kittens who are particularly vulnerable.
It’s therefore really important we have special isolation pens where sick cats can go to make sure illness isn’t spread to our other cats. These pens need special doors, air supplies, and other features – they are therefore understandably not cheap! They also need to be large enough for the sick cat to be comfy and not stressed, especially when they’re already not feeling well.
We are therefore hoping to fundraise enough to build two stand-alone isolation pens. We know times are hard for everyone, but these cats have been through so much – we want to keep them safe, healthy and hopefully find loving new homes for them as quickly as possible. Disease outbreaks not only slow this down, but are dangerous and expensive.
This beautiful lady is one of the lucky ones who was able to find a wonderful new home and is healthy and happy. Please, please donate so we can give more cats the chance that she had.
