The Beginning

In November 2018, we opened our doors with an aim to create a place that embraced our style of food and drink. Built on traditional hospitality values, service levels and the familiarity of a "local" but with a modern twist. 

Fast forward to the present day and it seems the town has embraced our ideas and for that we will be eternally grateful. Like any business journey, it hasn't been without it's challenges, most significantly a global pandemic & our enforced closure! However, we believe that there can be positivity in everything & the trepidation for the future that arose from the government announcements quickly dissipated & was replaced by huge humility & thanks as the people of Glossop supported our hastily designed delivery service giving us a chance to not just survive but thrive in difficult times. 

The Middle

Somebody once said that if you do what you love, it never feels like work. Of course, we love positive feedback and we will never try and hide the fact that this is how we make a living. This is a commercial venture and we need it to be profitable but we believe we can achieve that whilst doing some good aswell. We've loved being part of the town; seeing regular faces come through the door, getting to know our customers, contributing our services to local charities in particular Reubens Retreat and organisations such as Glossop Gymnastics, sponsoring junior rugby teams and collaborating with Glossfest & The Heritage Weekend. Much as we love our cosy 26 seater bar, it's time for change.....

Nowhere near the end!

People have always been at the centre of what we do for without them, we don't exist. We want to reach as many as possible however our plans have often been limited due to our size and now we have the opportunity to scale up. A larger premises opens a whole new range of possibilities some of them commercial and some that will benefit others....

• MORE OF YOUR FAVOURITES - we have always staved off our tendency for boredom by changing some menu items every week (we've designed over 200 burgers so far) and we'll continue to do so however a bigger kitchen means we can always hold more stock therefore more permanent dishes.
• A larger menu - the increased kitchen size means we can INCREASE WHAT WE OFFER. Our steak night events are always a sell out but once every 3 months isn't really enough so they'll now be available all the time. We're adding a new Smokehouse section celebrating our love for all things BBQ. 
• KIDS EAT FREE - yes you read it right. We understand that it's tough for parents right now, so not only are we adding a dedicated kids menu but we'll offer a free kids meal from this menu with every adult meal during the school holidays. 
• EXTENDED DRINKS MENU much like the kitchen size, we are stuck with a limited drinks range due the teeny nature of the bar. We'll be increasing the cocktail menu and the draught range. 
• A chance to make a real difference to our charity partner by offering a FREE MEAL to every single family that stays at Reubens Retreat. 
• Creating a free usable daytime & weeknight social space available for local groups, charities & not for profit organisations.
• LIVE MUSIC - we've lost count of the number of times we've thought "someone with a guitar would be great for when people have finished eating" but yet again, we simply don't have the space. 

We hope you'll agree that our plans would create not only a welcoming and desirable hospitality setting but also a valuable community meeting point & social environment for the town. Having fully costed the project and with our own capital input, unfortunately we can't quite do it all ourselves so we need your help. 

We would never expect something for nothing so we're put together what we hope is an appealing set of rewards to entice all you wonderful people to support us in our move and expansion. We're happy to take the risk and you guys can have the rewards.  

We're excited for what the future may hold and can't wait for you to join us on the journey.
