Carymoor Environmental Trust

RCN 1089668, Castle Cary

Carymoor inspires and enables people to live more sustainably. We provide outstanding outdoor learning opportunities at our unique nature reserve, helping people to feel connected to the natural world.

Carymoor wants to create a Somerset where sustainability is central to everyone’s lives. We provide inspirational outdoor learning experiences that help people to connect with nature and live more sustainably. We need your support to help us inspire the next generation.

Each year over 100 schools visit our unique site, which includes a nature reserve created on 65 acres of capped landfill. This transformation of a brownfield site into a wildlife-rich reserve makes an inspirational setting for environmental learning. With meadows, woodland and wetland, we have a wonderful site that provides incredible benefits for both people and wildlife.

Our dedicated team of volunteers support everything we do. Volunteers come to us to improve their mental health and wellbeing, and learn traditional skills to help manage the site including hedgelaying, scything and coppicing.

Carymoor brings green issues to life!
