Carry a Basketball not a Blade 2024

Aim

CABNAB is a project to help educate young people to lead a healthy lifestyle by participating in positive sports activity

CABNAB WAS LAUNCHED  IN NORTHAMPTON IN NOVEMBER 2023 AND WILL NOW CONTINUE INTO 2024

Our delivery team will continue to visit primary and secondary schools across the county of Northamptonshire. Our professional delivery team are: Andre Arrisol, GB and professional basketball player at MK Breakers, supported by his team mate Chris Tawiah.

Anna Letts, teacher and educationalist, who is an expert in providing workshops on crime prevention, mental wellbeing and tackling anti social behaviour.

MORE SCHOOL VISITS PLANNED

Our vision is to bring CABNAB to at least 10 more schools in the next phase.

A CABNAB VISIT IS A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE

A CABNAB school visit is usually a day or split into two half days.

INSPIRATIONAL ASSEMBLIES

Students are wowed by Andre, whose experiences in growing up in Northampton, to study at the University of Hawaii, to play for Great Britain and to come back to England to play professionally is awe-inspiring.

A CABNAB day starts with the keynote assembly from Andre who then  provides practical basketball workshops for selected classes to explore knowledge, skills and understanding while engaging with individual students.

EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS

At the same time Anna delivers the educational workshops to selected groups to provide the tools to cope with the all important issues surrounding knife crime.

PLEASE DONATE TO HELP US REACH MORE STUDENTS

Donations received will help finance the school visits to include giving children campaign pin badges, autograph postcards & parent's leaflets.

TESTIMONIALS

In order to provide opportunities for players who would like to play basketball in a 'youth club' style atmosphere NN Streetballerz was started in the summer of 2023. The summer holiday sessions attracted over 40 players on the six Northampton Racecourse 3x3 courts.

This programme continued during the autumn playing under floodlights each Friday evening. In January 2024 Streetballerz will continue indoors until the spring when it will return to the Racecourse.

Our vision is to create Streetballerz groups in other Northamptonshie towns to provide for more opportunities for free play.
