Help us raise £7,000 to publish and distribute Carried Through Loss, a gentle guide for parents after the death of a child.
When a child dies, the world as a parent knows it is shattered.
In the early days of grief, even the smallest things can feel impossible. Words feel inadequate. Decisions feel overwhelming. Your body is exhausted. Your mind feels foggy. People may mean well, but not always know what to say. And after the funeral, when the world appears to move on, many parents are left carrying pain they do not know how to explain.
This campaign exists because no parent should have to walk through child loss without compassionate support.

The Story Behind the Book
My name is 'Detola Amure, and I am the founder of My Little Warrior Child CIC.
In December 2018, my twin son, Morakinyo Caleb (MoraC), died two days before Christmas. He was seven months old.
Nothing prepares you for the death of a child.
In those early days, I searched for something that could help me make sense of what I was feeling. I found memoirs, stories, and well-meaning words, but I struggled to find the kind of gentle, practical guide I needed in that moment.
I needed something that could sit with me in the fog. Something that would not rush me. Something that would help me understand the emotional, physical, relational, spiritual, and practical impact of grief.
Over time, my own grief journey led me to become a certified Grief Specialist and to create My Little Warrior Child CIC in remembrance of MoraC, to support other bereaved parents and families after the death of a child.
Carried Through Loss (CTL) is the book I wish I had in those early days.

About the Book
Carried Through Loss: A gentle guide for parents after the death of a child is a compassionate support resource for bereaved parents.
It is not a memoir. It is not a book that tells parents to be strong, move on, or find quick answers.
It is a gentle guide that helps parents feel seen, understood, and supported as they navigate grief after child loss.
Rather than offering quick answers or telling parents how to grieve, CTL gently walks with them through the unseen layers of child loss.
It gives language to some of the emotions parents may be carrying, offers reassurance for the physical and emotional toll of grief, and provides gentle guidance for the difficult moments, conversations, decisions, and questions that often follow the death of a child.
The book is written to be a quiet companion for the days when grief feels too heavy to explain.
The heart of the book is simple:
You are not grieving wrongly.
You do not have to rush.
Your child matters.
You are not alone.
The manuscript is complete, and it's time to get it published.
Why £7,000 and 700 Copies?
Morakinyo was seven months old when he died.
In honour of his life and legacy, we are raising £7,000 to help publish CTL and place 700 copies into the hands of bereaved parents.
Each copy represents more than a book.
It is a quiet message of care.
A gentle companion in the early days of grief.
A reminder to a bereaved parent that they are not forgotten.
A way of saying, “We may not be able to take the pain away, but you do not have to carry it alone.”

How the Funds Will Be Used
Funds raised through this campaign will support the publishing, production, and distribution of CTL through My Little Warrior Child CIC.
This includes:
Our goal is to make the book available in paperback, eBook, and audiobook formats so that parents can access support in the way that feels most manageable for them.
Some bereaved parents may not have the strength to read in the early days, but they may be able to listen. That is why the audiobook matters too.
Where Sponsored Copies Will Go
We want CTL to reach bereaved parents in the places where compassionate support is most needed.
Sponsored copies may be distributed to Bereaved Parents through:
We will work carefully to ensure sponsored copies are managed responsibly and reach bereaved parents and families who may benefit from this support.
What Happens If We Exceed the Target?
If we raise more than £7,000, additional funds will be used to print and distribute additional sponsored copies, support audiobook access, and create further grief-support resources through My Little Warrior Child CIC.
What Happens If We Do Not Reach the Full Target?
If we do not reach the full £7,000 target, funds raised will still be used towards the core publishing costs of Carried Through Loss.
Depending on the final amount raised, we may publish in phases, prioritising the paperback and eBook first, followed by audiobook production and wider sponsored distribution as further funds become available.

Ways You Can Support
Every gift helps us publish CTL and place copies into the hands of bereaved parents.
Whether you give £7, sponsor one copy, pre-order the book, or support a partner pack, you are helping remind bereaved parents that they are not alone.
A Final Word
MoraC’s life was brief, but his legacy continues.
Through My Little Warrior Child CIC, his name is now connected to comfort, support, and hope for other bereaved parents.
Please help us raise £7,000 to publish Carried Through Loss and reach 700 bereaved parents.
Together, we can remind grieving parents that their child is remembered, their grief matters, and they do not have to walk this road alone.
