To raise funds for my beloved "witchy," to support her through ongoing cancer treatment.

by Caroline Pover in Cirencester, England, United Kingdom

Almost a year ago, my beloved “witchy,” Christine, was diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer. Since then she has undertaken numerous treatments—both modern and traditional—to support her body, mind, and spirit through the process of healing from and hopefully eradicating the cancer. She has benefitted from the expertise of a great oncologist who supports her holistic approach, and an extensive network of friends and family who have helped her in a number of practical ways. But after a year of independently funding treatments whilst simultaneously being unable to work, Christine now needs financial support in order to continue her treatment.

Let me tell you what Christine means to me.

Christine attended a speech I gave in autumn 2022. I had mentioned during the Q&A that therapeutic phlebotomy was helping me with my own ongoing health struggles, and the next day she sent me a lovely email offering to do Chinese bleeding on me, just to see if it helped. She said she wasn’t touting for business; she just felt compelled to reach out. I was touched by the way she approached me; it was unlike the ways that other people had contacted me claiming they could “cure” me. She wasn’t making any promises, and she wasn’t expecting me to pay her. So I went along with an open mind and a big box of pickles and books as payment.

Unbeknownst to me, I was meeting the woman who, in the coming eighteen months, would save my life over and over again.

Amongst many other things, Christine got me through the physical and emotional aftermath of an unwanted surgery’s sepsis-induced crisis, that had me convinced that Switzerland was truly the only answer.

Christine is an incredibly gifted woman, with healing capabilities and knowledge beyond any practitioner I have ever come across so far (and I’ve met more than a few during the past four years!). She draws upon a wide range of modalities—acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Creative Kinesiology, NAET, nutrition, energy, crystals, tarot, as well as Chinese bleeding. She has not only helped me with the physical element of my healing, but the emotional and spiritual as well. She has been an inspiration for my healing journey, and I have learned so much from her. She has been an extraordinary part of this phase in my life.

And she refused to accept any payment until I was awarded PIP. When PIP was taken away she discounted her fee as long as I promised to tell her if the time came when I couldn’t afford it anymore. I had my own healthcare fundraiser by then, but I always appreciated the discount.

Now the time has come for me to help Christine, and I am going to do that by raising money for her.

I know that there are people out there who are very glad that I am still alive; people out there who have benefitted from me passing on the wisdom I have gained through Christine; people out there who have benefitted from me being well enough to do all the support and advocacy work I do. There are people out there who would want to show their appreciation by donating to Christine’s fundraiser. There are people who I know will help me raise £1000 for Christine.

There are also LOTS of people out there who are always asking me about my experience of therapeutic phlebotomy or bleeding/bloodletting. I’ve now been doing it for almost four years, and it has been the number one most impactful part of my personal protocol. I’ve explored all sorts of ways: I’ve hired a private phlebotomist, I’ve learned how to do it on myself, I’ve tried leeches, I’ve done wet cupping, and Chinese bleeding in all sorts of different places on my body. I’ve recently professionally trained to be a phlebotomist so that I can help others who need it too. And I’m absolutely fascinated by the whole concept.

I receive private messages almost daily about bloodletting, and I can never reply to everyone, even though I try. So instead, I’m going to hold a recorded Q&A on Tuesday 8th July, at 2pm UK time. Here’s how it’s going to work:

  • You donate to my fund for Christine. Remember to include your email address AND to post a question about bloodletting in the comments when you donate.
  • I’ll send you a link to the online Q&A, which you can participate in live on 8th July, and even ask your question yourself if you’d like to.
  • If you can’t make it on July 8th, I’ll send you a link to the recording of the Q&A. This also applies to anyone who donates after the live event.

The fundraiser is set up to transfer funds directly to Christine, which I will do as funds come in so she can immediately put them to good use, rather than waiting until after the event.

Please, please give generously. Please spread the word. Even if you have no interest in the talk, please show your appreciation for everything that Christine has done for me.

I don’t think I’d still be here without her.

Love Caroline
