We are raising money to help Dons Local Action continue its vital work in tackling poverty in South West London.
Ten years ago, my husband Ian went for a 10km run on Wimbledon Common and never came home.
We can’t run these days, but we can walk - and we’ll be walking in his memory, me and Ian's brilliant sister-in-law, Johanna Threadgold.
Ian loved football. Kettering Town was his passion, but he was also a founding member of AFC Wimbledon and loved taking Craig and Laura to local matches in those early days.
On 18th October, We’ll be walking 23 miles from Wembley Stadium to AFC Wimbledon. We’ll be joining Xavier Wiggins, cofounder and fellow trustee of Dons Local Action Group, on the London leg of #Walk92 - a walk to all 92 football league clubs.
We're walking to raise funds for the Dons Local Action Group, who give hope, dignity and vital support to those in desperate need across South West London. Funds will also help tackle youth homelessness and remove the financial barriers stopping young people from playing sport - causes close to Ian’s heart, and mine.
If you’re able to donate, we’d be so grateful. And in even better news all that we raise will be MATCH FUNDED.
