THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF CARMEN BENEVOLENT TRUST

RCN 1164687, London

The Worshipful Company of Carmen Benevolent Trust raises funds, predominantly through members (Liverymen / Freemen) of the Company itself, to support individuals and their dependants who are in need. This includes the Company's Liverymen / Freemen, Company employees, those involved in the UK transport and logistics sectors, and armed forces personnel connected to transport and logistics. Additionally, it focuses on educating the public about the roles and contributions of carmen (transport workers) and supporting various other charitable causes linked to the City of London.

THE WORSHIPFUL COMPANY OF CARMEN BENEVOLENT TRUST

The Worshipful Company of Carmen Benevolent Trust is the Livery’s vehicle for benevolence and philanthropy. Our charitable work has been conducted in a variety of ways over the years, from the London Cartage Fund founded in 1864 and the Carmen’s Fund when that was established by the Court in 1939 until they merged in 1995. The present charity was set up in 2016 to continue the work as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation.

We support individuals and organisations with links to the Company, Transport profession, City of London or the Armed Forces and some of the projects we have funded include:

  • supporting state schools to help ensure that students have full access to learning.

  • supporting initiatives which help secure a future for young people.
