We believe £20,000 will take us to nearing completion of our project. £35,000 would complete it.
Carlton Towers Cricket Club are a recreational club in the village of Carlton near Selby in North Yorkshire. The club provides cricket in an inclusive environment for the community around them. The club have 3 senior sides, women's cricket, girls cricket and junior cricket. The cricket club is a big part of the community with over 300 people using the club on a weekly basis. The club prides itself on providing cricket to all with teams at a range of standards and opportunities for juniors and women this alongside a great atmosphere.
Although we have had a lot of success on and off the field our facilities are tired and unfit for the people using them. We currently have no permanent toilets, unusable changing rooms due to weather damage and a small cramped and dated social space and bar area. We are seeing more and more women and juniors using our facilities and in their current state the facilities are beginning to hold us back.
We want to create a space for the whole community and everybody involved in the club. We want everybody to feel welcome whether you want to come and watch cricket in a relaxing atmosphere, play at one of the best grounds, bring your child to somewhere you feel safe or enjoy a drink in a nice bar looking out on a beautiful cricket ground.
We have already raised a lot of money but are still short of the amount we need to input our vision.
We will be starting this project in September 2024 with completion in February 2025, so any money raised will be put straight into the project!
We are already a long way towards our goal. The money will all go towards the renovation of our pavilion. The current changing rooms and temporary toilets will be knocked down making way for bigger updated changing rooms and toilets including male, female and disabled. This will give us more space to renovate the community area bringing in a new kitchen and modern bar with an open plan feel and bi-folding doors looking out onto the ground. The funds will specifically be used on the fitting and furnishing around the pavilion.
The community is at the heart of everything we do. Our membership is diverse with members coming from a range of social and ethnic backgrounds, we are proud of the welcoming atmosphere we create and the amount of people that use our facilities and bar in their current state. We want to build a community building that everybody can be proud of. The club want everybody in the community to feel comfortable coming to the ground and spending their time in a modern facility.
We are looking for donations of all shapes and sizes. Whether you can donate any amount of money small or large on this crowd funder page or help in some other way. This is a huge project and any help would be hugely appreciated.
