NHS staff are working in a very difficult environment and need the support of our community. This project will show them we support them.
We will distribute care packs to frontline staff at Yeovil Hospital to help them through this incredibly difficult time. We want them to know we are doing everything we can to support them and this project will show them that their community cares about them. We will distribute packs which will include things like: snacks; hand cream; inspirational messages; drinks; lip balms, toiletries, mini-mindfulness activities.
This new initiative is all about showing them that the community cares. We will use the donations we receive to distribute small items that will make a real difference to their day to day lives. It is much more of a personal and softer approach and is all about caring for them as individuals.
Frontline NHS staff are shouldering an unequal share of the pandemic burden. They are putting themselves at risk of infection every day while most of us are staying at home and keeping away from anyone infectious. They are operating in an awful environment and these care packs are intended to bring some relief into a working environment which is very difficult. It will strengthen them as a mini-community and build community resilience as a whole, by showing them that we care.
